How To Use

All our cloths collect dust, grease and particles into the fibres. For best results, we suggest that you look at the instructions on each individual pack, but some general tips are:

Fold the cloth and use as a pad. This ensures good contact of cloth with the surface at all times.
Use the cloth from side to side or top to bottom of the surface to be cleaned, rather than rubbing around the area. This ensures that dirt on the surface is collected rather than smeared.
Heavy-Duty cloths (see below) may be rinsed as you go. Lighter-Weight cloths (see below) should not be too damp, otherwise moisture residue does not evaporate quickly and the surface may not be left smear-free.

We therefore recommend the following for our Heavy-Duty and Lighter-Weight cloths:

Heavy-Duty Cloths

For cleaning thick grease and dirt.

(E.g. The General Purpose, Antibacterial, Shower & Sponge Cloths.)

Wet thoroughly, wring out all excess water, fold and use as a pad.
For really heavy dirt, use wet before finishing damp. In some circumstances, such as heavy grease and dirty windows, use hot or warm water.
For best results, then finish with a Glass & Polishing Cloth.

Lighter-Weight Cloths

For cleaning light grease and dirt from glass and shiny surfaces.

(E.g. Glass & Polishing, Screen, Lens & CD/DVD Cloths.)

Spray water onto the surface to be cleaned, fold a dry cloth and wipe.
Or use dry after a damp General Purpose Cloth.
When using the Screen Cloth on electrical equipment, ensure no spray runs can enter sensitive areas.

Mop Set

Assemble the mop by inserting the handle into the mop base. Adjust the handle length by twisting the handle (extends from 1m to 1.8m) Tighten to finger-tight only.
Dry head (see label). Use first to remove loose dust and dirt. Place the dry head velcro side up on the floor and attach the mop base to the centre of the mop head.
Damp Head (see label). Wet the head and wring out any excess water. Place the damp head velcro side up on the floor and attach the mop base to the centre of the mop head. During use, rinse out and refit the damp head.
Mop in an S shape, maintaining the same leading edge of the mop head as you go. This prevents dirt being left behind.

Stainless Steel

Using the Glass & Polishing Cloth on stainless steel will give you excellent results. However:

Brushed stainless steel is slightly grooved and you may need to use the General Purpose Cloth (wet) first, to achieve the best results.
Stainless steel on some new appliances is covered in a protective oil coating or a plastic protective coating, held on by glue. In order to prevent streaking when cleaning, it is necessary to thoroughly clean off this layer first. Use the General Purpose Cloth, wiping from side to side cleaning a small area at a time. Refold and repeat until the surface is clean. Rinse the cloth with warm water from time to time to ensure it remains clean. Finally, remove any remaining moisture or streaks with the Glass & Polishing Cloth.

Calcium Deposits

Regular use of E-cloths will prevent a build up of calcium deposits around taps and other areas. Where a build up has occurred, E-cloths may not be effective and therefore an alternative cleaner may be necessary. Once the build up has been removed, use E-cloths with just water to maintain the surface.
